Laser Vision Correction
We will perform a complete pre-operative work-up and thoroughly discuss your vision correction options with you, making recommendations for your optimal treatment – LASIK, Clear Lens Exchange or otherwise. Laser Vision Correction

Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery has progressed light years from the days of patching and hospital admission. Once the cataract has been removed, a very small incision is created to insert a foldable lens implant. The incision is so small, most of the time a stitch is not required upon completion of cataract surgery. One myth that persists is that cataract surgery is laser surgery. Although a laser suction device is on the market, most cataract surgeons, including those at Carolina Ophthalmology Associates, PA use ultrasound to break up the cataract. Once the cataract lens is removed, an implant is inserted allowing rapid visual recovery. Now performed on an outpatient basis, our patients are able to resume their normal activities in a matter of days instead of weeks!

ReSTOR®
The AcrySof® ReSTOR® lens is a breakthrough treatment option. It combines the safety and successful outcomes of traditional cataract surgery with new technology that gives you a full range of vision — near through distance — so you can regain your visual freedom. Corneal Transplantation
Certain corneal diseases and scars may be treated with corneal transplantation, which is one of the most common transplant procedures performed in the United States. The success rate is generally very high.

Laser Surgery for Diabetes and Glaucoma
Laser surgery treatments may be effective in different types of glaucoma. Both open-angle glaucoma and closed-angle glaucoma may be treated with laser. This is performed within our office and usually takes only moments to do.

Laser surgery can be very helpful for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy. In diabetic retinopathy the laser can seal leaking blood vessels and treat diseased portions of the retina. This laser surgery is done in our office and takes minutes to complete.

Services

General Ophthalmology
In addition to performing ocular surgery and laser, Drs. Bryan and Scroggs are experienced in treating and evaluating all general eye problems like cataract, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, dry eye as well as many other conditions. We also treat acute traumatic ocular problems.

Routine Eye Care
Routine eye care is a very important part of our practice. We suggest yearly examinations to check your glasses prescription and ensure no eye problems are developing.
